Welcome to
BioChaco
We are a Foundation committed to the conservation and sustainable development of the Gran Chaco ecosystem. Focused on the unique biodiversity of the second largest ecoregion after the Amazon, the Chaco, we work tirelessly to protect and raise awareness for the care and preservation of our valuable natural resources and the native wild species of the Gran Chaco.

let's protect our
Fauna
The Gran Chaco Americano is considered to be so rich in mammal species with around 150 species, standing out not only for the richness and abundance that it comprises, but for the special importance that many of them have. The Gran Chaco is considered one of the critical ecoregions of South America due to the high degree of threat to its environments; it is necessary to generate productive alternatives for the sustainable use of its fauna to conserve the great natural wealth it has.
-
Let's protect our
Flora
The Gran Chaco is an ecoregion with a wide climatic gradient and unique geological characteristics, plains, dry and flooded savannahs, estuaries, marshes, salt marshes, forests and shrubs, creating a high diversity of ecosystems and species with more than 3,400 species of plants, of which 400 are endemic and a rich variety of native cacti concentrated in 4 genera, the conservation and responsible management of the natural resources of the Gran Chaco is essential.
-
Let's protect our
Wetlands
They are water ecosystems considered oases in the Gran Chaco, with their own characteristics, where the hydrological regime and periodicity is the main condition of the ecological structure and functions that gives them unique properties differentiating them from terrestrial and aquatic environments, they provide multiple ecosystem services and functions to their surroundings, have a wide and rich biodiversity of endemic species and new ones to science. The wetlands of the Chaco are threatened and require sustainable management for the climatic-environmental balance of our Chaco nature.
