Biodiversity Foundation of Gran Chaco (BioChaco)
We monitor, count and record aquatic, resident and migratory birds of the Chaco through national and international activities such as Global Big Day, Neotropical Census of Aquatic Birds, nature photography contest and exhibition, we organize annually the poetry festival Pescando con Peces promoting the conservation of fish species of the Pilcomayo River through the promotion of local human talent, we carry out scientific research on native flora and fauna species with the publication of scientific notes in national and international journals of academic prestige, we propose municipal, departmental and national declaration as Natural Heritage to sites, species and ecosystems of great environmental importance in the Chaco, we develop environmental education through documentaries on wild flora and fauna broadcast on social networks as well as radio and television programs with wide coverage.

Field research projects
We use equipment such as camera traps to monitor native fauna in the Chaco, binoculars and monoculars to observe birds in their natural state and document the results in national and international scientific journals that contribute to conservation projects.

Continuing environmental training and education
We provide continuous training to society on environmental issues (flora, fauna, aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, loss of biodiversity, eco tourism, bird tourism, registration of new species in the Chaco), in addition we generate educational audiovisual production on native flora and fauna, promoting nature conservation in the Chaco.

Nature photography contests
We connect people with nature through the technological use of digital tools and images that capture landscapes, flora, fauna, the culture and tradition of the people in the Chaco, promoting local nature tourism, as well as the development of its inhabitants in harmony with nature.

Promotion and encouragement of the creation of sites and species as Natural Heritage
The research work we carry out allows us to promote the creation of spaces, sites and native species of the Chaco as Natural Heritage of the Gran Chaco ecoregion.
GOALS
The primary objectives of the Foundation are:
1. Manage cooperation support from the International community for development, ETAs, Autonomous Territorial Entities, Universities, Institutes, Private Banking and the business sector to develop all activities for the benefit of wildlife, groups and communities.
2. Implement conservation, research and education programs for wildlife, ecosystems and habitats.
3. Promote and implement research, conservation, environmental education, and sustainable development projects.
4. Establish alternative tourism programs (ecotourism, ethnotourism, etc.), indigenous development, genetic resource management, environmental communication.
5. Support projects from universities and/or private professionals of Bolivian or foreign nationality who wish to work in relation to wildlife conservation, scientific studies, monitoring of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, native flora and fauna, habitats, groups and communities.
6. Provide comprehensive care to the most vulnerable groups and communities by promoting awareness-raising and social participation actions in order to extend the value of coexistence, solidarity and cooperation with nature and the environment.
7. Promote a culture of peace and harmony between nature, civil society, groups and communities for sustainable integral development.
8. Implement environmental research and education centers, museums, forest nurseries, natural areas and conservation properties for wildlife.
OBJECTIVES
The Foundation's objectives are to focus on providing opportunities that promote and encourage development and comprehensive progress of towns, communities and cities in Chaco and Bolivia, preserving life, habitats, ecosystems, flora and fauna, as well as wild species in danger of extinction, through various programs and/or projects, allowing them to achieve and improve their quality of life in balance with nature.

The mission of the Gran Chaco Biodiversity Foundation (BIOCHACO) is to play a leadership role in research, development and environmental education to resolve environmental situations specific to the Chaco, promoting care for the environment, natural resources and endemic wild species of the region.
