Birdwatching in the Narrows of Pilcomayo

TOUR REVIEW:

The area called El Angosto del Pilcomayo, has a distance of approximately 12 km, is located on the western route to the city of Tarija. On this route we will be able to spot the famous and emblematic Andean Condor (Vultur Gryphus), with a very special and unusual approach; “Feeding on fish carrion”, we will also be able to see a series of species, aquatic, boreal and southern migratory, residents, beach species and among others, having an annual record of more than 100 species in the area. We will also be in the place called “La Galería”, declared “NATURAL, LANDSCAPE AND SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE for nesting, shelter and feeding of resident and migratory birds in Villa Montes.”

Duration: 1 day (5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. (optional 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)

ITINERARY

We start the tour very early in the morning at 5:30 am from the city of Villa Montes heading to the area called El Angosto and then returning to Villa Montes at 10 am. In the afternoon we repeat the same route to continue adding more birds (optional).
