Environmental Education on flora and fauna of the Chaco

our objective is: Raise awareness in our society about the importance of preserving natural resources through audiovisual tools for the dissemination of biological knowledge of the native flora and fauna of the Chaco and its fragile ecosystems for their conservation.

Discover the 3 main ways that BioChaco is raising awareness and educating our society about the care, protection and conservation of wildlife in the Bolivian Chaco.

  1. Preparation and production of audiovisual material through educational micro-documentaries with academic information on Chaco habitat species and ecosystems.
  2. Talks, ecological walks and registration of urban-rural birds with groups of children, young people, fans of birds and wildlife in the Chaco.
  3. Proposals for municipal declarations as Natural Heritage for sites or areas, birds, plants and other native species of environmental importance or threatened for the Chaco region.

MICRODOCUMENTARIES

The production of micro documentaries is a material prepared by the BioChaco team on Chaco soil, wetlands and private livestock properties that carry out sustainable management of their productive activities, preserving habitat, providing water to lagoons in a critical time of drought in the region for use exclusive of the native wildlife of Chaco, we use scientific research equipment (binoculars, monocular, camera traps, professional cameras) and we carry out inventory, monitoring and gathering of wildlife information to produce good quality material that allows us to reach all reading public on social networks and local media (TV, Radio).

DIRECT CONTACT WITH NATURE

BioChaco and COA Chaco (Chaco Bird Watchers Club), the operational arm of the Foundation, work directly with schoolchildren, students, environmental groups and teachers in the formal educational sector to sow admiration, respect and care for our wildlife in Chaco. through field trips, ecological interpretation walks, observation and in situ identification of birds, flora and fauna of the Chaco.

MUNICIPAL DECLARATORIES OF NATURAL HERITAGE

Our BioChaco and Coa Chaco team works tirelessly for the conservation of the native biodiversity of the Chaco, we use the territorial legal instruments to make municipal law proposals as Natural Heritage to sites or areas of special interest for birds, for the wild flora and fauna of the Chaco, as well as threatened, endemic species of environmental, cultural and historical importance for the Chaco region, with this we protect their habitats and the other species that live there as well.

PROGRAM NEEDS

BioChaco currently works with limited local support, our work team is committed, responsible and passionate about the conservation of wildlife in Chaco, making multiple personal efforts (ad honorem) to achieve our objectives and get more people to join us. protection of biodiversity, we urgently need support to obtain a vehicle from the BioChaco Foundation that allows us to travel to the countryside and wonderful natural sites, some not yet explored in Chaco with the purpose of monitoring, recording, documenting and producing audiovisual material to continue raising people's awareness about the care and conservation of biodiversity in the Chaco, as well as teaching good sustainable management practices for production.

If you would like to support the Environmental Education program on Chaco flora and fauna to help us raise awareness among more people and save species like the Chaco habitat, please donate.

We thank our local partners and sponsors for the logistical support to travel to the sites of interest for wildlife conservation in Chaco.
